Applying for Masters Scholarship
To foster the cooperation with the University of Stuttgart and to promote students at an early stage of their scientific career, the IMPRS-CMS and the MSc in Physics, Chemistry and Material Science programs have established a joint fellowship program for highly qualified master students.
Application Conditions
- Outstanding candidates holding a B.Sc. degree in physics, chemistry, or materials science can apply for this M.Sc Scholarship.
- At the same time, you are accepted or enrolled in one of the following Master's programs at the University of Stuttgart:
M.Sc in Chemical Sciences
Master Programs in English:
M.Sc in Materials Science
M.Sc in Physics
Master Programs in German:
M.Sc in Chemie
M.Sc in Physik
Application Period
- The Masters programms at the University of Stuttgart start only once/twice per year. Application for a stipend is nevertheless possible at any time.

Scholarship Amount and Duration of the Funding Period
The stipend is about 934 € per month for 1.5 years.
Finding a Mentor
Every fellowship holder is advised to find a mentor from the list of Principal Investigators of the IMPRS. Besides the official coursework, fellowship holders can be involved on a voluntary basis in the ongoing research activities of the mentor's group.
Info for Non-EU students
- Since 2017, non-EU students have to pay tuition fees of 1500 € per semester for Bachelor and Master studies at universities in Baden-Württemberg. This unfortunately cannot be covered by the IMPRS-CMS.
